Should Capital punishment be abolished or not Should Capital punishment be abolished? Last night, I searched it on the Internet. According to the statistics from Baidu, nearly 98% oppose to t
he abolishment of capital punishment. And I am one of them. My reasons can be concluded as follows. First, it is one of the most effective ways to prevent crimes. Because it has deterrence to the crime, which makes people fear. Without death penalty, some people won’t be scared to commit a crime, such as murder people, rape baby girls. Then they will not correct a crime recklessly. Second, those who have committed serious crime ought to pay the price. Or people won’t calm down the indignation. Only in this way can people calm down the inner indignation. Criminals should take the responsibility for what they have done to the society. It can somewhat be regarded as a way of justice. It is also a way to promote the law of the country. Third, executing a convict costs much less than putting him in prison. If those criminals won’t be executed, they will be put in prison. Our government has to pay a great deal of money for their life. Little contribution would they make, but they will consume equal resources. Thus, from my point of view, capital punishment should not be abolished. Our society would be safer, more stable, and more equal with it as the law is always a guarantee for a calm life.
