阅读下列短文，从每篇短文后所给各题的四个选项（A、B、C、D）中，选出最佳选项，并在答 题卡上将该项涂黑。 A Getting to school on time doesn’t have to be a battle against the clock. The key to a calm countdown is having a routine(常规)that works for you , and then sticking to it. Lay out children’s clean clothes the night before Who wants to be looking through unsorted clothes for three pairs of matching socks at 8 am? That goes for you , too. Just have the clothes you know they’ ll wear and the food they like ready and waiting. It makes life so much easier not to have a “does my bum(屁股)look big in this ” worry when you can’t spare the time. Allow time for yourself Whether it’s a hot shower, a cup of coffee or five minutes’peace, leave yourself enough time . This does not include “just five more minutes” in bed, which will often turn into oversleeping followed by mayhem.
Stick to a routine Make sure your children know what you expect from them every morning and stick to the routine, whether it’s that they should be fully dressed before breakfast or that they should brush their teeth straight afterwards. My personal top tip for the easiest way to a pain-free morning is no TV. Keep calm If the bus is late or you’ve forgotten where you parked the car , it’s better than walking still. If you are late , don’t blame the children. Everyone has such a bad morning ,but if your children are often late for school, it’s up to you to start a more organized routine. 51. The passage is mainly intended for_______________. A. teachers B. students C. parents D. Policemen 52.according to the passage, which of the following can avoid having a “does my bum look big in this ” worry? A . Allow time for yourself. B. Prepare clothes ahead. C. Stick to a routine. What is the author ’s first choice to have a pain-free morning? A. Not getting up late. B. Having breakfast early. C. Not watching TV. D . Putting on clothes quickly. B In choosing a friend, one should be very careful. A good friend is as valuable as a precious stone. He can help you study . You can have fun together and make each other happy . Very often you will meet fair-weather friends. They will be with you as long as you have money or luck, but when you are down, they will run away. How do I know when I have found a good friend? I look for certain qualities of character, especially understanding, honesty , and reliability. Above all else, I look for understanding in a feeling. A good friend tries to understand what another person is feeling. He tries to think of ways to be helpful, and he is also a good listener. At the same time , however, a good friend is honest. He will try to understand me and accept me .but he will not let me walk all over him . Another quality of a friend is reliability. I can always depend on a good friend . If he tells me he will meet me somewhere at a certain time, I can be sure that he will be there. If I need a favor, he will do his best to help me. If I am in trouble, he will not desert me. There is a fourth quality that makes a friend special. A special friend is someone with whom we can have fun. We would enjoy our friendship. We share experiences and learn from one another. A good friend has a good sense of humor, too . He likes to laugh with me. That is how we share in the joy of being friends. And I know that he is looking for the same qualities in me. When meeting someone who is reliable, honest, and understanding, I know I’ve found a friend! 55. If you make friends with those who only care for money, ___________. A. they will give you what they have when you need help B. you will be deserted when you get into trouble
C. you will become rich soon D. you , to some extent , get real friends 56. The underlined words “walk all over ”(in Paragraph 3) mean “__________”. A . catch up with B. treat badly C. go together with D. get a higher position than 57. When you make an appointment with your friend, _____________. A. you needn’t keep your promise B. it does not matter whether you arrive on time C. you can change time freely by yourself D. you should treat it as important as possible 58. The passage mainly discusses_____________. A. the qualities of friends B. how to deal with people C. where to choose friends D. how to get on well with rich friends C What do people do with their old, out-of-date but still useful computers? Most people don’t know what to do with them. Many old computers are put away in homes. Many more are simple thrown out with the rubbish. Finally, some companies are thinking of ways to bring down the number of old computers. Sony has agreed to help recycle its old products. Dell, Hewlett-Packard and other companies now also take back some old computers. In some countries, laws are being passed, too . Computer companies will have to pay for collecting and recycling their used products. And 70% of computer waste must be recycled. The idea behind the laws is that computer companies themselves should pay the cost. That will encourage them to make computers that are easier and cheaper to repair and upgrade (升级). Yet while many people are throwing away good computers, others cannot afford them at all. Hundreds of organizations are working to solve this problem. They collect and repair old computers. Some also teach others how to repair computers. The computers then go to schools, charities and people who need them. Giving a used computer to one of these organizations can turn one person’s rubbish into someone else’s useful things－and cut down on waste, too. 59. What do many people do with old computers? A. C. What to do with old computers.
D. People who need computers should be helped
D Petting zoos are fun places for families with children, and a great chance to learn about farm animals. But according to a new study, many kids aren’t learning one important lesson during their Petting zoo visits. Five-year-old Hayden loves petting the farm animals; so does her friend, 6-year-old John. But do they know what to do after they’ve petted the animals? “Say goodbye?” John asks. Hayden knows. “The animals have bacteria(细菌) on them and you need to wash your hands,” she answers. Dr. Mark Tanenbaum agrees with Hayden. “The animal is contaminated(弄脏) with its own bacteria even when it’s healthy ,” says the doctor. “Many of those bacteria are dangerous, and can cause disease to human beings.” According to research, only 30 percent of people wash their hands after leaving a petting zoo. It shows the need for parents to have additional information, additional knowledge of how to protect their children when they visit petting zoos or places where animals are in direct touch with the public. That includes three key steps: ★Avoid any petting zoo where the animals seem dirty or sick. ★Make sure your children know not to put their fingers into their mouths after touching the animals ★Before leaving the zoo have your children wash their hands completely with soap. With the right precautions (预防) , many experts and parents agree: Taking a child to the petting zoo is worth the small risk. “They don’t have many chances to be around live animals and I think that’ s important. As is known to all, with the improvement of people's living standards, cars have become a popular means of transport, bringing great convenience to out life. However, they have also caused some problems such as air pollution and traffic jams. How can we solve these problems then? As far as I'm concerned, riding bicycles is a good solution. For one thing, bicycles don't need any petrol and they are energy-saving. For another, bicycles are environmentally friendly because they won't give off waste gas. What's more, riding bicycles is a good way for us to exercise and it is beneficial to our health. Therefore, let's take the responsibility to build up a low carbon city by riding bicycles. Come on and join us! Thank you!
