This standard is applicable to assessing corrosion resistance of metallic materials and coatings. Test subjects can be permanently or temporally corrosion resistant. The neutral salt spray test in this standard is applicable to metal, metal alloy, metallic coating, organic coating, anode oxide film and conversion coating1. Acetate salt spray test and copper accelerated acetic acid test are applicble to copper-nickel-chromium or nickel-chromium decrotive cladding. 2. 1. Scope
The standard prescribed the technical requirements for welding rod arc welding, submerged arc welding and gas shielded arc welding of carbon steel, low alloy steel, high strength structure steel, stainless steel, stainless steel clad steel plate. Note: The high strength structure steel hereafter referred to as high strength steel. The standard is suitable for hydraulic steel structure weld; it is also suitable for the steel structure weld of miscellaneous mechanical products in water conservancy and hydroelectric projects.

3. Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions are suitable for the standard. 3.1 Hydraulic steel structure The steel structure products and members, like water conservancy and hydroelectric project strobe, drain grating, water piloting penstock and headstock gear, called hydraulic steel structure. 3.2 Postheat After welding, the all or part of the weld will be heated or heat preservation, the retarded cooling technics measures called postheat. It is not equal to postweld heat treatment. 3.3 Postweld heat treatment

It indicates that the heat treatment which is used for improving welding joint organization and performance or eliminating residual stress. Note: The standard involved postweld heat treatment mainly indicates the heat treatment for eliminating residual stress. 3.4 Carbon equivalent The content of alloy elements in steel (including carbon) is converted into equivalent content of carbon. It can be taken as a reference index reference index to assess steel weldability. 3.5 Butt weld It indicates the welding seam in the weld groove face or groove face of one parts and the surface of other parts. Note: The standard involved butt weld includes complete penetration and part penetration butt joint, T-type joint, angle joint butt weld. 3.6 Fillet weld It indicates the welded welding seam along intersecting line of two orthogonal parts and near orthogonal parts. Note: The standard involved fillet weld includes T-type joint, overlap joint, angle joint, butt joint (unequal rough plate) fillet weld.
