Schooldays are the most joyful and fun filled with many mysteries to solve and many fights to
resolve. In my schooldays, I had many friends and some foes. We used to gossip, play and sometimes fight over silly things. I had two best friends. They were very nice and loyal to me. Every teacher in my school liked us, although we weren't brilliant students. In fact we were average ones but still we respected our elders and loved our youngsters. Since my childhood, I've never been complaining to anyone for anything as I had everything I needed or wanted. I miss my schooldays since they are all about having fun and no competitions. The most exciting part is "the exchange of lunch boxes". Usually my best friends and I liked each other's lunch and soon developed a habit of exchanging lunches. Apart from sharing lunches, we also used to share our silly secrets. We used to play our self-created games and draw photos for fun. We also used to have bets and treats for rewards on childish things but we never played jokes on anyone. My childhood was indeed really amazing and simple. We found fun in small but beautiful things. It was surely surrealistic (超现实的) but also exciting at times. In my schooldays, we sometimes played in the rains, made paper boats, ate ice-creams and enjoyed every drop of water and after getting all bathed up in water, we had hot chocolate drinks. These were some of the memories of my schooldays in my childhood, which I still cherish today. I hope everyone's childhood days are just as carefree and joyous as mine. 26. My Childhood B Whether you have an average or an above average IQ, you can have a strong friendship with someone with a high IQ. Here are some tips on how to remain friends with such a person. Embrace your friend's differences. Gifted or highly intelligent people may be extremely creative and passionate. Many gifted people long for perfection and won't stop working until perfection is achieved. Your intelligent friend may also not solve problems or situations like other friends. Instead of being annoyed or even embarrassed by your friend's differences, remember that his or her intelligence or the way they see the world is special and wonderful. Know about your special qualities. It takes two to tango. The fact that your friend is super smart doesn’t mean that you aren't equally important in the friendship. While your pal may be excellent at something, you have talents and traits that are equal to his or hers - use them to complement(补全) the friendship. Share knowledge. Your friend has a high IQ, but it doesn't mean he or she knows everything in the world. They may be excellent in their chosen areas of profession, but they can't be good at everything. They can also benefit from seeing issues that they do know much about from another perspective. Share your own knowledge, ideas and thoughts with them. This way, the two of you can build up each other's knowledge, share possibly different perspectives and broaden your understanding together.
Try new things together. If there's something you both like to do, try a new thing in the same area. If you both like the outdoors but have never gone boating, try renting a couple of boats and researching where to explore. If you both like Asian food but the nearest Thai restaurant is 2 hours away, make a list of things you can do in that destination and have a road trip. Doing things together can leave you both amazing memories. 31. According to Paragraph 2, people with a high IQ _______. His job was to get European officials and experts to comment on CBS broadcasts. At that time, the situation in Europe was becoming worse. Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party had come to power in Germany. D Some people think that children should begin learning a foreign language as soon as they start school. Do you agree or disagree with this idea? The question is indeed quite arguable. Some people agree with the statement that children should learn foreign languages in school while some people are opposed to it. So before either advocating it or opposing it, we’d better list all the related aspects and facts and then conduct an analysis one by one in order to come to a clear conclusion. According to my point of view, I agree with the statement that children should begin learning a foreign language as soon as they start school, but only to some extent because it has both advantages and disadvantages. Foreign language is a mixture of two languages and they have a great influence on the life of
children. Foreign language brings about great changes in students, life. By learning some foreign languages, they acquire many opportunities to promote their competence. Nowadays, communication is very important among countries, such as in exchanging their thoughts, products, deals and a number of other things. So it is vital to learn foreign languages in schools, because children have golden age in school and they can learn things much faster than adults. They don't feel shameful while speaking any language with mistakes and wrong pronunciation. Numerous parents have a dream that their children will go abroad in the future. So if they learn these languages well at school, they will not face many paradoxical( 矛盾的 ) situations in other countries. Well, as every coin has two sides, it also has some bad impacts. By learning foreign languages children may become eggheads (学究) and they will not pay much attention to their parents, friends and other relatives. They will not have association with their own culture, languages and traditions. Considering these related factors, I think this is a difficult question for us to understand because it has both fruitful and harmful aspects, but it entirely depends on us how to keep a balance between them so that we can come out with less loss-and more &uns. 41. The underlined word "it" in the second paragraph refers to_______. A. the question C. the foreign language B. the statement D. the school
42. In learning foreign languages, children are in a better stage than adults because_______ . A. they are more clever than adults B. they can find more time for their learning C. they are braver than adults D. they can learn things more quickly 43. What bad impact will be brought to children if they learn foreign languages? A. They will tend to become too foolish in everything. B. They will forget their own cultures and languages. C. They will become hard to be understood by others. D. They will totally forget their parents, friends and other relatives. 44. The author advises us to_______.
A. encourage our children to learn a foreign languages B. send our children to learn foreign languages abroad C. balance well between whether to learn or not D. help our children to gain more and lose less 45. What is the topic of the passage? A. Whether children should learn a foreign language as they start school. B. The advantages and disadvantages of learning a foreign language. C. I have still remembered, on a freezing winter day I suddenly fell ill and had a high fever at midnight. My mother, extremely worried, hurriedly took me outdoors to call a taxi to the hospital when the rain poured down. Soon after that she was totally wet, shivering with cold. However, I was protected well in her arms, which I have been impressed so deeply that I shall never forget it. Indeed, we should thank our mothers sincerely and love them all our life. But deeds are better than words. So please help them with housework and always share our joys with them.
