[教学内容] (1)The story of the ugly duckling. It is spring. Some ducks are swimming in the pond. Mother Duck is making a nest. There are three eggs in the nest. They are small and green. Now there are four eggs in the nest. Three eggs are small. One egg is big. The big egg is white. Mother Duck is sitting on the nest. It is summer. Look! The ducklings are opening the eggs. There are three small ducklings. They are beautiful. There is one big duckling. It is ugly. It is autumn. Mother Duck is swimming in the pond. Three ducklings are sitting on her duck. They are happy. The ugly duckling is sad. It is winter. Two big swans are swimming in the pond. They are beautiful. They see the ugly duckling. “Hello. Who are you?” “I’m an ugly duckling.” “No! You’re a little swan.” “I’m a little swan!” “You’re a beautiful little swan!” (2)The meaning of the story. [教学目标] (1) 知识目标:

Words: nest, ugly, swan, duckling Sentences: Mother Duck is making a nest. There are three eggs in the nest. There are ? They are small and green. (2) 能力目标: They are ?

①Help the students use the present continuous tense to describe an action taking place at the time of speaking in activities and daily life. ②Help the students read and act the story. ③Help the students communicate each other. ④Help the students try to imagine and express their ideas.

①Inspire the students’ interest.

②Let the students understand the meaning of the story and express their own opinions. ③Help them to improve the ability of communication. [教学重难点] (1)To master the present continuous tense. (2)To talk about the story with the words and sentences. (3)To use the words and sentences in activities and daily life. [课堂实录] Step 1 Warm up Say hello to the children. How are you today? T: Have you ever heard the story about the ugly duckling? What do you think of the story? Can you say something about the story in Chinese? 主要有三种观点: 1) 2) 3) 人不仅要外表美,还要有心灵美; 不管发生什么,人首先要有自信; 当面对困难的时候,要学会努力面对和解决问题所在。

What do you think of the ugly duckling? (设计意图:运用学生的已有生活经验,对故事的认识展开初步的讨论,激发学生的学习兴 趣,引导学生进入故事情境。) Step 2 Presentation (1) 出示春天的四幅图画:

T:What season is it? S1: It’s spring. T:What is Mother Duck doing? Is it swimming in the pond? S2: She is making a nest. T: Why? S3: There are three eggs. T: How many eggs are there in the nest now? nest 鸟窝,鸟巢

Are they the same? What do they look like? Three eggs: One egg: small, green big, white

T: Where is Mother Duck? Why? (设计意图: 以连环画的形式呈现故事片断, 通过问题的提出深入故事内容, 掌握故事要点。 ) (2) 出示夏天的两幅图:

Read the story with some questions: T: What season is it? What’s happening now? What do the ducklings look like? Three ducklings: One duckling: small, beautiful big, ugly

(设计意图:通过进一步提问逐步建立故事框架。) (3)出示秋天的一幅画面: T: What season is it? Can you ask some questions? Ss: What is Mother Duck doing? Where are the ducklings? How do they feel? Why? Is the ugly duckling happy? How does he feel? Why? ?? Summary: Make some examples about mothers’love. Does your mother love you? Say something about it. Then what should you do for your mother? (设计意图:通过让学生提问,促进生生之间的互动和合作;同时通过谈论母爱进行简单的 道德渗透和人文培养,学会享受爱和爱别人。)

(4)出示冬天的三幅画面: T: In winter, the ugly duckling sees two swans in the pond and they are talking. What are they talking? Act the dialog in pairs. One is the ugly duckling, the other one is the two swans. T: How does the ugly duckling feel now? (happy, surprised, ?) Why? (设计意图:通过表演故事片断,让学生体会故事情境,进而形成比较完整的故事表象,同 时训练学生的语言表达能力和思维能力。) (5) Listen and try to imitate.

(课前预习时已标出句子中的重音和升降符号,同时读的时候还要注意语速。) Try to imitate. (Practise in pairs. Boys and girls) 注意随时纠正发音或声调的运用。 (设计意图:通过听和模仿读,让学生熟练掌握课文内容并养成模仿发音的好习惯。) Step 3 Consolidation (1) Read and tick

Read the story again. Tick the correct boxes.

(2)Play a game: Show some phrases. ---- swimming in the pond ---- sitting on the nest ---- sitting on Mother Duck’s back ---- making a nest ---- opening the eggs Eg: T: What is swimming in the pond? ?? (3) Retell the story. Talk about in groups first. (设计意图:通过表格和重点词汇帮助和鼓励学生复述课文,提高学生的表达和理解能力。) Step 4 Extension (1) Discussion:

T:If you are the ugly duckling, what would you do? What will happen then? Try to imagine. 附:允许学生适当的时候用汉语表达。 (设计意图:通过师生之间展开的大讨论,把课堂氛围推向高潮,把故事内容深化和延伸, 不仅调动了学生的学习热情, 提高学生用英语发表见解的能力, 同时还进行了情感渗透和人 文培养。) (2) Making a book:

T: Can you make a book about the ugly duckling? Draw and write about it by yourself! Have a try! (设计意图:通过学生动手操作,画画写写,让学生自己完成一个故事创作,激发学生的学 习兴趣和参与欲望,拓展学生的思维,并训练学生的写作能力。) Step 5 Homework (1)Read and retell the story. (2)Make a book about the ugly duckling.

[课后反思] 这是一篇学生们非常熟悉的童话故事,教材图文并茂,言简意赅,很容易理解和掌握。 教学时采用连环画形式为学生逐步呈现完整的故事内容, 通过师生、 生生之间展开的讨论促 进互动交流, 并训练了学生的表达能力和思维拓展能力。 课文在讲授过程中比较流畅和顺利, 但在复述课文时参与学习的学生不太多, 这说明学生在由简单的几句话形成比较完整的一个 语篇过渡中还是比较困难,需要不断地训练和引导。在引发的“母爱”讨论中,虽然不是故 事的核心意义, 但学生有的可说, 有的可做, 不失为训练学生思维和语言表达的一个好机会, 我认为可以留点时间给学生, 为学生搭建一个成长的平台, 有时候会收到意想不到的教学效 果。
