The bad effects of smartphones With the development of advanced technology, a number of smartphones swept the market and they did bring convenience for people. However, it is worth noting tha
t an increasing number of smartphones users are actually suffering from smartphones. In fact, a smartphone will distract people’s attention from work or study, pose a threat to their physical health and bring bad effects to their spiritual life. Therefore, people should be educated by government to use their smartphones rationally. There is no doubt that people from all walks of life can ’t live without smartphones but as a matter of fact, their working and studying efficiency are lowered because of the distraction from smartphones. People are bombarded by various kinds of messages and phone calls every day and they may easily fail to concentrate on their ongoing task. In addition, some people are so addicted to playing games with smartphones that they almost turn a blind eye to what they are supposed to do. What ’s more, some people are extremely fond of taking selfies even if they are at work, and they just enjoy the complacency of showing off those pictures on twitter or Wechat. Frankly speaking, it is necessary for people to get rid of smartphone addiction and learn to use it correctly. As the smartphones increase, people’s physical health is facing threat. Now, more and more people get poor eyesight because of their abuse of smartphones. To our sadness, terrible traffic accidents are very likely to happen to people who focus their attention on smartphones when they cross the road, causing severe injuries or even death. Additionally, telecom fraud is so common nowadays and people will probably suffer from property loss or even heart attack. It ’s reported that a 19-year-old girl died of a heart attack because the telecom fraud cheated 10,000 yuan from her. We’d better learn from the heart-broken example that we should recognize the potential dangers of smartphones. To some extent, smartphones also bring bad effects on our spiritual life. Being afraid of falling behind the rapid development of society, people lose themselves in fast-food culture, prefer to scan the information roughly with their smartphones and they spend less time on reading in a library. Besides, most people think that smartphones get people closer but actually people are no longer engaged in face-to-face talking and they spend most of their times swiping on their smartphones in friends party, family gathering and staff party. Finally, they will suffer from feelings of alienation with each other. Worse still, some people who have strong comparing mentality will attach great importance on their smartphones, spend their money on them carelessly and always try to show them off. To change this situation, people might as well spare more time for themselves to enjoy the wonderful life without the bothering of smartphones. The extensive use of smartphones did bring bad effects on people ’s working efficiency, physical health and spiritual life. It is high time that government should take on the responsibility to save people out of the dilemma brought by smartphones. I believe if people can use smartphones rationally, they will live a better life.
