David Copperfield
Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens, the greatest representative(代表) of English
critical realism (批判现实主义),was born in

1812 at Portsmouth. Dickens’ novels are set in realistic environments such as in the factory or in the street. His characters represent all

aspects of society from beggars, criminals and orphans to
factory owners.

This critically realistic description of Victorian working class
life is perhaps the very important essence(要素) which makes Dickens become one of the greatest authors of all time.

Dora Spenlow
She is naive, beautiful and kind .David was deeply

attracted by her at their first met. Although she did not
know anything about housework, David married her when her father died. Before she died, she did the last thing for her husband, asking for her friend Agnes to look after her husband, because she knew Agnes also loved David for a long time.

Beautiful sentence:

1.The most important thing in life is to stop saying I wish and start saying I will.
Consider nothing impossible, then treat possibilities as probabilities.

2.Lovers had loved before , and lovers would love again; but no lover had loved, might could , or should ever love, as I loved Dora.

3.I hope that real love and truth are stronger in the end than any evil or misfortune in the world . 4.We must meet reverses boldly, and not suffer them to frighten us, my dear.We must learn to act the play out, we must live misfortune down.

My feeling
Firstly, I like this story because it has a happy ending ,then I learnt a lot. David’s experience inspire me to work towards my own goal. I know that money is not the most important thing and we shouldn’t look on people through how much money he has.

On the other hand, health is very important. Because without health, much
more money you have is useless.Such as Dora, if she can be healthy, she will

have a better life.

Then, I think we should work hard and believe ourselves. We should be

hopeful to our future. As we all know, life has a strange habit of taking
twists and turns that we do not expect. Whenever our life feels unbearable, things will get better if we put efforts into it. Also, we should have a light heart to face the troubles in our life and always keep a hopeful mind. We can believe that whatever happened,

we can solve them with a firm mind.

That’s all, thank you!
