Moral Education ?

Moral education refers to activities designed to develop students morality. ? In education,

the term moral education is defined somewhat differently from what is defined in the filed of ethics. Ethically moral education focuses on norms and habits of human beings. In education ,however, it has a wide range of meaning, including developing students ideological , political and moral qualities. ? If a student only have an understanding of morality, and if he does not have the desire to be moral, does not see the value of being moral, and lacks positive attitude and feelings, it is impossible to use ethics to regulate his behavior. Moral education plays a very leading role in the development of young people. Young people are in a critical period, when they are rapidly developing moral characters. On the one hand, they have a lot of flexibility. On the other hand, they are na?ve, lacking social experience and the ability to tell good from bad, so they are easily influenced.

The Task Of Moral Education
? Gradually increase the students ’ moral standard and form good moral values. ? Foster students’ noble moral sentiments. ? Develop students’ good moral habits.

The Content Of Moral Education
Education on patriotism
(1) Cultivating students’ love for mother land from childhood. (2) Strengthening the awareness of the nation and its ethnic character. (3)Promoting internationalism and safeguarding world peace.

Education on humanitarianism and social public morality
(1)Develop the humanitarianism spirit. (2)Cultivate civilized behavior. (3)Develop good characters.

Education on democracy and legal system
(1)Developing democratic ideas and awareness for participation. (2)Improving the awareness of discipline, and strengthening discipline. (3)Comprehending common knowledge in law, and obeying the laws strictly.

The Principle Of Moral Education
? 1. The principle of combine theory and practice ? 2. The principle of leading ? 3. The principle of building positive factors and overcoming negative ones ? 4. The principle of being strict with students and respecting them ? 5. The principle of teaching students according to their aptitude
Basic requirements for implementing the principle are as follows: ? (1)Understand the students characteristics and personalities. ? (2)Education students according to their individual characteristics. ? (3)Education students according to their age.

Convince consists of interpretation, conversation, report, discussion and visit, etc.

A model could be great people in the history, the educator’s demonstration, good examples among students, etc. Cultivation consists of learning, adopting a personal motto, making resolutions, self-criticism, self-discipline, and so forth.

? This includes personality, improvement, influence by environment , and art edification.

? Praise, reward and criticism, punishment
? Education is introducing information and motivating students ; meanwhile, it sets norms and restrains for the students. Praise and criticism are integrated part of education.
