American Culture (Groups) Campus B Semester 1 Assessment Introduction Due to the time constraints at the end of this Semester , I have decided that the best way to assess students is to have
them deliver a Power Point Presentation to summarize the topics covered in the lectures. Hence each student is now required to deliver one power point presentation in the following format. Front Cover Sheet to include the following details Between 10 – 15 slides Using some vocabulary or expressions from the course text. Assessed Presentation
The presentation should cover some of the topics provided in the lectures. I.e. American History, Culture, Society, Family Structure and Education. Title My impression of Modern America Subtitles (at the student’s own digression) Final Subtitle A particular place of interest to me is……
(Students should use a couple of slides at the end of the presentation to describe a place in America, why it is of interest to them and what relevance it plays in Modern American Society. The presentation should be between 10 and 15 slides long. Note: I will mark these presentations on the English content, relevance to the course materials presented in the course book (New College English) and the lectures.

Also: I plan to go back to the UK shortly, prior to the end of the Semester. I am hoping to organize a lecture for both groups on the theme of European (Italian) Architecture. The proposed lectures will potentially be delivered by Piero Papa, an architect who is also involved in CQU. I will forward his details onto the class as soon as I have confirmed his availability.
