Many British and American universities provide limited accommodation to the students. In Britain, university students almost always have their own rooms, but in American it is quite usual for two students to share one bedroom. There are three kinds of accommodation for students: home-stay, private accommodation and university-owned accommodation. Only international students can apply for a home-stay, so that they can have a better and deeper understanding of the language and culture they are learning. if the students can not get in a university-owned accommodation , they can choose to rent a private room and they can get assistances from the housing office in the students` union. the two types of university-owned accommodations are: dorm and self-catering house. Students should apply early enough and supply information regarding personality, habits and ethnicity. Self-catering house are available for graduates or professional students with spouse.
