Teaching stress and difficulties: learn to use the new words Teaching aid: Multimedia, blackboard Teaching procedures: Step1:Sing a song<You are my sunshine> Step2:The moniter does a duty report Step3:Lead-in: Review the traveling route. Present the map of Africa on the screen. Students are asked to recall the traveling route mentioned in the reading part in this unit.. Step4:word study 1,Ask students what they will think when they hear the word”adventure”.Write down their ideas about “adventure”on the blackboard. 2,Suppose the students are going on an adventure travel in Africa.Get them to prepare package for an adventure holiday.Ask them what to take. 3,Read part A and Part B to see what Colin will take.Show students the slides about Part A and Part B.Teach them the new words. 4,Tell students “safety is the most important thing on your adventure”.Ask students to focus on Part D.Then choose four items from Part D to put in the first aid kit. 5,Group work: Suppose students are going to Africa.Discuss what to take and the reasons why they take them.They can choose 6 items that they think are most important.They can choose from Part A and B.Other arrangement is OK.Ask them to write down their decisions on a piece of paper. Ask some students to show their decisions in the front of the classroom and give some proper praise. Step5:Play a guessing game to relax and consolidate the words. Step6:Ask students to complete Part C.Then check the answers. Homework:Write an article to introduce your favourite place,explain why and give some tips about going there.
