Brainstorming: Ask the students the question “What will you think of when we talk about school clubs?” Step 2 Lead-in Read the school clubs in the box after the teacher. Then match them with the correct pictures. Step 3 Pre-reading 1. Enjoy some pictures with the whole class. 2. Get the Ss to look at the title of the text and predict what American school
clubs are. Step 4 While-reading 1.Skimming ① Ask the Ss to listen and skim the text, write down the school clubs mentioned in the text, and then ask some students to answer it, after that, check the answers with pictures. ②Let the Ss choose the best answer. 2.Scanning ①Get the Ss to read the passage again and answer the questions. ②Decide true ( T ) or false ( F ) . 3.Intensive-reading According to the key words, ask students to read the text carefully and then fill in the table with detailed information.
