nk about the amount of time we spend at work. We are on the job approximately 71% of every year from the beginning of our careers until retirement. The importance of choosing a career with which we are satisfied cannot be overemphasized. 2. Difficulty for finding a appropriate career Many people don't put enough effort into choosing occupations or pick them for the wrong reasons. Maybe they choose careers that seem secure or pay well. Then they end up unhappy. The best way to make sure that doesn't happen to you is to make a well-thought out decision.

Common problems existing among undergraduates when making career planning Before the tips of making career planning, let ’s know three common mistakes that usually happens on undergraduates. It is exactly what we must learn to avoid. 1. Obviously overestimate or underestimate themselves when making self assessment 2. Pay too much attention to personal preference, while ignore the match between the demands of career and their capacity 3. Inactive to make preparations for career.

Career planning process Then, please follow the career planning process as described here. The career planning process is comprised of four steps: Self Assessment, Career Exploration, Match and Action. You can attempt to go through them on your own or you can seek the services of a career development professional who will help facilitate your journey. The way you decide to undertake this process—with or without assistance—is less important than the amount of thought and energy you put into it. Self Assessment During this first step, you should ask yourself seriously that who you are. To get answer, you will use a variety of tools to gather information. You will learn about your Interests、 Work-related Values、 Personality Type、 Aptitudes、 Preferred Environments、 Developmental 、 Needs and Realities. You will identify occupations that might be a good fit for you during this st Career exploration Then you come to the second step, career exploration, when to know what you want to do. Based on the results of your self assessment, you will explore occupations that appear to be a good fit. It would be better to research the related industries and the labor market. After that, you can start to get more specific information from part-time job or volunteer opportunities. Match

During this phase of the career planning process, you will decide what you can do well. That is to see, make sure which occupation is the best fit for you. Firstly, you can take all the things into consideration, including your ideal career, your preparation, and the barriers you may face with. If it is necessary, please go back to the prior phase. Action Now it's time to put together a plan to reach your goals and start moving forward. In brief, make sure how to achieve your planning. A career action plan at detail will be helpful, which serves as a guide to reach your goals. It is important to note that the career planning process is a circular one. You may have to go back to the beginning, or any phase, at some point in your life as you redefine yourself and your goals. You may even have to do this more than once. Principles After learning the process of career planning, I am willing to show you four important principles to consider. Clearness Please make sure that your goals and the steps are clear. Feasibility All your goals and actions must be realistic and practicable. Consistency Keep your main goal being consistent with your targets on different sections, and ensure that all your action must support your objective. Variability Your planning ought to be changeable according to the change both of your mind and environment. P
