Synergizing Makes Us More efficient Nowadays, highly effective people seem to cut through life's complexities in bold, clean strokes, whereas others can not..Recently, a book named "
THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE",the best sellers in book stores, has aroused wide public concern. The book lists 7 habits of highly effective people. The list placed “being proactive” as the very first habit, with "Beginning with the end in mind" taking second place followed by "putting first things first" in the third place. Four other habits ("Think win-win "at 4th, "Seek first to understand, then to be understood" at 5th,”Synergizing” at 6th and "Sharpen the saw"at 7th.) also occupy an important positon. Inspired by some powerful lessons in the book, most of my attention has been focused on personal change, on adapting to the contemporary society rather than finishing whatever by myself. Although all the habits mentioned are of great benefit.Synergizing has the deepest impression on me.The meaning of Synergizing lies in that the whole as a unit is greater than the sum of parts. That is to say, people together would be more fruitful than each person on their own. One of my experiences might make the point clear. Once in school we were asked to make a poster which was to celebrate the Tomb-sweeping Day. I buried mysele in painting the posters with graves and on some graves adding Chinese characters to their title for three whole hours. But after I shared the poster with my friends, I don't think mine was the best one. I found one person’s work enriched with colorful cartoons and poetic cultural phrases arranged in unique ways. It was a blend of “Japanese cartoon” style which I had never thought of. However, good ideas alone are not enough. So we integrated all the ideas and finished the poster together. And, not only did it take us a smaller amount of time, but also the result was better than before. And what made us more efficient was the integration of synergy. As the saying goes:“More hands produce a stronger flame.”Indeed it was.But for synergizing,we couldn’t make it possible to plus one and one more than two.
